USMA's Mission

West Point adheres to its motto "Duty, Honor, Country" by preparing and inspiring young men and women to serve their country. The entire leader development program - academic, military, physical, and moral-ethical-is designed to produce officers of high moral character for our nation's Army. From the moment of graduation, a new second lieutenant begins a career in a leadership role of great importance.
